Why is Communication Important?

Our districts (ER9) and schools are committed to establishing and maintaining open and efficient communication with all stakeholders. We believe that a clear and reliable communication framework will support and build partnerships between home and school, increase collaboration, and ultimately improve and enhance student learning.

  1. We believe that relationships thrive when communication is active, ongoing, and based on listening.

  2. We believe that communication is not one-way. We will actively engage stakeholders in two-way dialogue that meets everyone’s needs.

  3. Our school districts are leaders in the community. We will strive to share messages with the communities of Easton and Redding that connect and build meaning.

  4. We believe that communication is more successful when timely.

Beliefs

  1. Ongoing communication will highlight the positive stories in our schools and foster confidence and support in the education being provided to all students within the districts and the work being done by the Board of Education, Administrators, and Staff.

  2. Social media will be used to communicate with the community and active “live social media posts” will be used at BOE meetings and other activities.

  3. A communication framework will be used to consider how and when we communicate with stakeholders, both internally and externally.

  4. We will provide staff training and shared expectations to ensure that information is shared in a consistent and user-friendly manner.
